Welcome to Northwest Baptist Missions

Reaching the Western heart from the Heart of the West!

Northwest Baptist Missions exists today because of the vision of its founder, Dr Wally Higgins. God brought Brother Higgins West to do church planting in Pinedale, Wyoming. While in this area he met another church planter in Idaho by the name of John Lovegrove. They, along with additional supporting Pastors, caught a vision to establish Northwest Baptist Missions as a means to encourage fellowship and help in the establishing of new churches in the West. Utah and its surrounding States were predominantly Mormon and few Baptist Churches existed in this area. They became burdened for the many small western towns without a Gospel witness. NBM was born out of that need. We exist today to help church planters and their sending and supporting churches to carry out the great commission through church planting efforts in the Northwestern region of the United States.

God has established His church in many of these western towns since the start of NBM, for which we praise Him. The task remains unfinished and His commission is still intact. In the spirit of those early pioneer days of church planting, we remain committed to that initial vision. I would invite you to take a look at the need and consider how God might wish to use you to help fulfill the Great Commission in the Northwestern region of the United States.
